Broker has three definitions for the term.  The first is a business which owns and leases equipment.  The second is a business which arranges the buying & selling of transportation of goods or services. The third is a shipping agent, who acts on behalf of the ship owner or charterer in arranging charters.  Other terms used for a broker include: agent, field broker, and master broker.
