All commodity Value (AVC) is the total annual sales amount and expressed as a percentage. ACV could be expressed for a particular geographic area, such as a retail type (food or drug). For example, there are two grocery stores. The first grocery store has five store locations, which shows weekly ACV (total sales of all products) of $15 million. The second grocery store has five locations as well, but they tend to be smaller in size and their weekly ACV is only $5 million. The total market size would be ten grocery stores with $100 million in total ACV.
