Enterprise Resource Planning. A planning and scheduling system whereby various modules of a company's system can share data. For example, orders can be entered directly into a company's planning system and manufacturing is automatically coordinated. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a set of applications that automate human resources and finances as well as handle tasks such as order processing and production scheduling.
