The term Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) is described as a network device such as a switch that provides (sources) power on an Ethernet cable in a Power over Ethernet (PoE) system, which allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electrical power to devices.  The PSE would deliver PoE to compatible devices, such as security cameras, webcams, VoIP phones, routers, remote point of sale kiosks, and more.
