Lobbing groups and special interest groups use various forms of advocacy to influence public opinion and/or policy. The groups have participated on an important part in the expansion of political and social systems. Groups vary considerably in size, influence, and motive. In addition, some have broad ranging long term social purpose and others are focused on a response to an immediate issue or concern. Typical groups include: political, banking, and health care.
