An Exchange can also refer to an organized, open marketplace where buyers and sellers negotiate prices using a real-time bid and matching mechanism. Uses of this concept can be exemplified in systems ranging in scope and complexity from websites such as Ebay®, to high value markets such as the New York Stock Exchange.
