Acquisition is obtaining supplies or services through purchase or lease. The supplies or services could already be in existence or must be created, developed, demonstrated, and evaluated. In a business, acquisitions could be either welcoming or unwelcoming. Welcoming acquisitions occur when the target company expresses an agreement to be acquired, whereas unwelcoming acquisitions do not have the same agreement from the target company. The acquiring business would need to actively purchase large stakes of the target company in order to have a majority stake.
